Anita Milham, LMHC has been working in the mental health field for over 10 years. She is a good listener and a talented therapist who combines empathy and compassion with clinical expertise. Anita has a non-judgmental approach when working with adults who struggle with substance abuse, anxiety, depression, anger management, conflict resolution, grief, trauma and bipolar disorder. She employs therapeutic approaches such as Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solutions Focused Therapy, parent coaching, anger management, psychoeducation, and mindfulness-based strategies.
Anita has a diverse clinical background. She has run court-mandated groups for substance abuse. Prior to this, she worked with parents and their children as an in-home therapist in the Children’s Behavioral Health Initiative (CBHI) program. Anita has also worked as an emergency services clinician.
She earned a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management from the University of Massachusetts, Lowell in 1995, and a Master’s in Counseling Psychology at Framingham State College in 2009.
