Jennifer Cooperman, LICSW

Jennifer Fleischer-Cooperman, LICSW, has over 25 years of experience working as a clinical social worker, with experience in multiple healthcare settings that have allowed her to develop skills working with a variety of populations. Jennifer has worked with individuals, couples, and families in adult inpatient psychiatry, long-term care, and hospice. Medical social work requires a clinician who can sit with people at some of their most vulnerable moments, and this has enabled Jennifer to develop a strong ability to assess the situation, be present with the grief of others, and be a partner in developing a path forward.

Jennifer believes the core of effective therapy is learning…learning about oneself, learning about effective behavior and communication patterns, learning how to integrate grief and trauma into a meaningful life. This learning occurs best when a therapist and client have mutual trust and respect, and for this reason Jennifer brings a strong sense of empathy and non-judgmental listening to sessions. Jennifer is a problem-solver and utilizes approaches such as Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing to help clients reach their goals.

Jennifer earned her Masters degree in Social Work from Boston University and her Masters degree in Counseling Psychology from the State University of New York at Albany.
