Cathy Renz, LICSW

Cathy Renz, LICSW is the founder and clinical director of Renz Counseling. She has worked as a psychotherapist in private practice for several years, and has extensive experience treating individuals, couples and families. She is a talented therapist who brings empathy, compassion and clinical understanding to all her work with clients. In addition to seeing regular daily clients, her work includes supervising other social workers and social work graduate students.

Cathy previously served as the Bereavement Counselor at Old Colony Hospice in Randolph for many years. Combining her clinical experience with a deep sense of empathy, she provided individual counseling and facilitated bereavement support groups. Prior to that, Cathy served as Director of Social Services at both Hahnemann Hospital and Jewish Memorial Hospital in Boston. She worked directly with both psychiatric and medical patients and their families, and provided care for general and geriatric populations alike.

Cathy received her BA in Philosophy from the State University of New York at Albany. She received her Master’s in Social Work from Boston University, with a clinical concentration in medical social work.
