Elaine Houchens is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker with over 13 years of experience working in the child welfare field. She has worked with a variety of community resources including family and juvenile court, school systems and law enforcement. Elaine also has worked with adults, couples and adolescents as an outpatient therapist.
Elaine employs a strengths-based approach in working with individuals and couples. Her areas of interest include anxiety, depression, bi-polar disorder, anger management, communication issues, relationship and family difficulties, life transitions and stress management. She engages clients to meet them where they are. Elaine builds a trusting therapeutic relationship and customizes therapy to the client's personal needs with compassion, empathy and a non-judgemental approach in a collaborative manner.
Elaine holds Bachelor's and Master’s degrees in Social Work from Bridgewater State University.
