Beth Sturgeon, LICSW

Beth Sturgeon, LICSW has over 5 years of experience working in community based mental health
supporting adults with mental health challenges. She has experience working with individuals and as
well as groups and views people through a strengths based lens. Beth’s experience includes working
with people that are going through a life transition or struggling with making positive changes in their
lives. She also has experience with people struggling with substance use, anxiety, depression, trauma as
well as those who have diagnoses such as schizophrenia or bipolar disorder. With compassion and
humor, Beth is not afraid to discuss difficult topics and has a non-shaming approach; she understands
the struggle people experience in trying to make sense of what it means to be a human and how to
create a life full of meaning.

Beth’s approach is person-centered and collaborative; she is trained in Motivational Interviewing, CBT
as well as many other modalities. Beth also uses tools such as mindfulness, yoga , meditation and
breathing techniques to create greater resilience in people’s lives.

Beth earned a BS in Political Science from Francis Marion University and received a Master’s in Social
Work from Boston University. She also holds certificates in Gerontology and Behavioral Medicine.
